I apologize for the lack of updates, but I'm a busy man. Okay I lied, I'm just really fucking lazy. A matter of fact, I am so lazy that I am looking for a full time xanga writer for me. Please contact me if you're interested. Anyways:
So right now I'm feeling kind of mixed between happy and pissed. You see, Aaron, Scott, & Lisa went to the metro last night to see Rise Against, Stretch Armstrong, A Wilhelm Scream, & Since Man. It was a bad ass show and all, but when I came out after the show, a representative from Geffen Records (the label Rise Against is on) came up to me and asked if I was interested in being in a Rise Against music video that is being show Sunday. And of course I said yeah.
So today I got called up from the people running the video shoot and they wanted me to do it today. So the shooting was from 5:30pm-5:00am located on the corner of Washington & Walsh in downtown Chicago. So I figured I won't go to my classes tommorrow and I'll do it. The guy runs it down saying that I'll be an extra for the shots when Rise Against plays a conert scene. Meaning that I'm one of the hundreds of people shouting and jumping when Rise Against plays on a stage. The catch is, is that Rise Against has a deal with Geffen in their contract together, that any video production of Rise Against must have final clearence by Rise Against before ditribution. So if Rise Gainst decideds not to put the video on MTV which is the plan then it wont and theres nothing the label could do about it. This is very bad ass becasue it proves that Rise Against isn't taking it up the ass from a mahor label. But it would totally suck if I went through all that and it doesn't even gets shown.
It has also been brought to my attention that the Chicago Marathon is being held today in downtown Chicago. So parking/driving would be chaotic and I would most definatley be lost. So given the circumstance that the video must not even be shown I decided not to do it. But I'm kinda pissed because it was kinda like a once in a lifetime oppurtunity. Well tell what you think!
"People worry about kids playing with guns or watching violent videos for some kind of cultural violence will take them over. No one worries about kids listening to thousands...literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery, and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable, or did was I miserable because I listened to pop music?" |
